Another Adventure!

It's one adventure after another! When we got back from vacation, since I had a couple more days off, I was scheduled to go to Wolf Park and "play" with the wolf pups. Actually is was a photo shoot. Turns out it was just me, Monty, and two WP staff members. I had a blast! The pups were like, well....like puppies. They played and wrestled and crawled on me. They chewed on my shoes and my pants. They rolled over for belly rubs and played tug-the-hide (you don't want to know!). I was in heaven! I did manage to take a few pictures. :o) One is posted below. The others can be viewed at my photo site.

Evenutally, I will post some type of report about our Wild West Adventure (Yellowstone Re-visited). That's on the back burner for now. Other adventures await! Stay tuned.

Garden update and more

Well, the garden is coming along nicely. Since my last post, we planted more lettuce (head variety), an eggplant, and basil seed. We put in poles for the beans to climb. Everything seems to be doing well. We have had problems in the past with critters eating the new tender leaves on our pepper plants and sometimes even the tomato plants. This year, we rigged up wingdings to keep the birds and critters away. And, of course, Hootie is on duty too. :o)

Most of you know that we're leaving today for our 2nd annual "Wild West Adventure." Yep, we're driving out to Yellowstone again. It's all I've thought about since we got back last year. That place is magical and definitely cast a spell over me. It's been calling me back for a year now. Don't know if Eric feels the same or not...I think he's just along for the ride. He had a great time, I know, but doesn't feel the "magic" that I do.

We took the puppies to "doggie camp" this morning and said our tearful goodbye. (sniffle) They didn't seem to mind. But I think they've known for weeks. I can tell by the way they act. Rosko especially because he has been staying inside at night. That's very unusual for him. Sasha's a smart girl and always knows what's up. But she's old enough to take it all in stride. But I just HATE that part of our trips!! I wish we could take them with us, but our lifestyle on the road would just be too hectic. One of these days, when we slow down, maybe our babies can go with us.

I wish I would be able to keep a travel log here, but 1) I don't have a laptop and 2) we will be camping most of the time and won't have access to the Internet anyway. So...I will keep my journal the old-fashioned way. But if I happen to run across an Internet Cafe or someplace I can log on, I'll check in. Who knows, maybe when we get back I'll transfer my written journal (or part of it) to this blog.

Happy Trails !!
